Kristine and Jack – Engagement Shoot in Old Town Orange
It’s great to be on summer break! I haven’t posted in a while, but I got out of school at the end of June and have been off ever since. My summer thus far has mostly consisted of running errands and planning for the new classes that I’ll be teaching this coming school year – Precalculus and Statistics!
Anyways, I had the pleasure of doing an engagement session for Kristine and Jack last weekend in Old Town Orange. They are such a sweet and funny couple! It was great because Old Town Orange has such significance to these two and you can really see how their faces light up when they talk about these local landmarks. Plus, I got a brief history lesson of the circle as well!

The fountain right in the middle of the circle …

It’s great to see how much these two make each other laugh
.

Here is the church that they attend …

Thanks for the great shoot guys, I can’t wait until the wedding in October!
Anh and John – Huntington Beach Tea Ceremony
Ah, John and Anh. I’ve known these two for so long now and I am fortunate to have had the chance to shoot their tea ceremony over at Anh’s parents’ house in Huntington Beach. This was actually the first tea ceremony that I’ve ever gone to – either as a photographer or guest – and it was really cool! I’ll detail it as I remember best …
John was my old roommate in college, so I’ve seen him at his best and at his … least presentable. I’ve gotta say, it was actually kind of nice to see him in a not-acting-like-a-fool manner. Just kidding John! Anh and John will be getting married in September and I’ll be enjoying that section of their union as a civilian. Congrats you guys, I can’t wait for the party!
Such pretty decorations …

Here’s John in his ao yai (or ao dai depending on which part of Vietnam you’re from).

Here is the John that I know better …

Here are a few pictures of Anh looking beautiful ![]()

So the festivities began with John and his family and friends lining up outside of Anh’s house. With John and his parents leading the way, they each come bearing gifts to a receiving line of Anh and her family and friends outside the house …

After this, everybody went inside where some speeches were made by the families …

Then the bride-to-be comes down from the stairs and is presented to the groom-to-be!

I guess what happens next really varies, but next came a brief prayer session …

With lots of singing!

Then the ceremony itself was pretty much over, so we all ate and just hung out. Here are Anh’s nephews and niece, Liem, Katie and Zach.

And the two lovebirds. Oh you’re so silly.

Congrats again you two. As the speeches go, may the best of your yesterdays be the worst of your tomorrows.
Thiri and Dan’s Laguna Beach Shoot
The pictures from this shot were actually finished last month, but I just didn’t have enough time to get online and update the blog. The fact that I’ve already shot Thiri and Dan’s wedding and started processing should let you know that I’m falling a little behind on the website updates! Regardless, Dan and Thiri are an awesome couple – they met at the park, where Dan was able to muster the courage to go up to Thiri and talk to her. And the rest, as they say, is history! They had a beautiful wedding in Placentia and I’ll make sure to update the website when I get those finished!
Thiri was pretty radiant …

Check out that beautiful SoCal sun!

Thanks for letting me share your engagement and your wedding with you guys!
Los Angeles Engagement – Lisa and Anson
I had the pleasure of doing an engagement shoot for Lisa and Anson last weekend that brought us all over LA. First we started in Venice Beach, then headed over downtown to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. We then walked over to the Ahmanson Theater and around downtown LA. We went to the bench that’s in the movie “500 Days of Summer” and even got to stage some pictures over there too! Then we drove over to Union Station and finished the night off at a lamppost exhibit over at LACMA. It was only half a day and we had a blast doing it the entire time! Lisa and Anson are getting married in June – I can’t wait, you guys!
First we started things off at Venice Beach with Lisa, Anson and Vincent. He’s so freaking cute!

And the lovebirds walking along …

Here’s Vincent doing his best Donatello impersonation …

Reach for the sky!

Vincent is so cute! And was a totally good sport hanging out with us all afternoon (and playing with Anson’s iPhone!).

Then over to the Walt Disney Concert Hall …

Empty underpass, had to hit a quick picture here!

Tom’s Bench!

I love this picture …

A few guerilla shots over in Union Station …

Then over to the lamppost exhibit at LACMA!

I had a great time you guys! Thanks for letting me share the afternoon with you guys =).
Venice Beach Engagement – Be & Ricky
Wooo! I headed over to Venice Beach at sunrise on Sunday morning to meet up with Be and Ricky who are getting married this coming August for an engagement shoot so here are some of my favorites … They had the awesome idea to get nice and grungy with the graffiti wall over there so they saddled up from Orange County and brought Gogi the dog along for some engagement pictures! Be and Ricky were total naturals when it came to posing for these pictures and made my job a total cinch. I can’t wait for the wedding guys!
